I had an excellent night. Stayed in KH the whole night. Only saw a bit of MO, same as always, so solid. Ferry was good, took a while for me to get into his set, but the last hour and half was excellent anyhow. NU-NRG was ok, nothing too special for me. Infusion blew me away, such a hard banging set. Deko-ze is the best house DJ I have ever seen, he had a few technical problems with records skipping I think, but the set was amazing. Murder was the Bass!!

Damn, I thought it was going to be another sardine fest, so I didn't go, but it sounds like it was good.

Oh well, I'm supposed to be studying instead.

It was a good end to the summer, I must say...Last night was the perfect end to a torturous weekend. I had 2 bad ass hangovers, so last night was played 100% sober...I think Ive shot my knew out, but it was soo well worth it. I got to see every dj I wanted to see and more...awesome night! I think it was more of a blessing that I lost my buddy, because I got to check out every dj while lookin for him! DJ's which blew my mind: Ferry, andy C was hype! Deep Dish, checked them out just before we left, they were spinning some nice nice house....whats with people callin them sleep dish? I didnt find them sleepy at all! Nu Nrg played it hard and dirty, and Infusion kept it goin, it was great..each time id feel tired theyd pound out some harder beats and all my energy was back. It was really good to see all the ta's out in full force. Way too many to name. You all know who you are..great night indeed!

EEK! cant believe I forgot...big thanks to Aren (Sgt foo) for the ride down and Jason (cono_sur) for the ride home!!

Thumbs up Party was "ok"

I got there at around 10ish & saw 2 lines to get in so I stayed in the Koolhaus line & got inside in like 20 or 25 minutes which surprised the shit out of me...no line issues

I ran into the usual TAs like Nattalie,Ray,Mike & Jenna( where we're you guys???)and Igor.I also ran into Richard ( Good luck out west my friend ).I mostly hung out with my friend ALF & Sam...ALF is an amazing dancer & knows how to body liquid with some of his snaky moves...He's not a TA but I hope to get his ass on here soon.

Anyway I thought the whole party was "ok"...Mark Oliver was SOO good & sure knows how to warm up a crowd...Ferry was good but I've heard better sets from him in the past...NU nrg we're ok & Infusion kinda bored me & I didn't like the added live vocals & so I ventured into the Guv to hear Deep groove for a few minutes. It was really rammed in there & so I went into Charlie's...I think I should have stayed in THAT room all nite instead. There were some wicked beats in that room but by 5:30am or so they shut it down ...I was really tired at that point anyway so I left & went home.I didn't get a chance to hear Dekoze but I hear him alot anyway so I wasn't dissappointed.

The crowds weren't too bad this time around but I mostly stayed in the Koolhaus because I was afraid that I was gonna get "stuck" in one room if I wandered from room to room.It happened to me at previous L of Love parties. All in all it was well organized & I was glad that I went so that I can my summer with a BIG smile

Labour of Love Festival III Review

BEST SETUP I HAD EVER SEEN AT THE GUVERNMENT COMPLEX!

I got there at 9:00pm and I escorted Aaron Mossey, Alex and Ariel into the complex. Never have I ever seen so many security guards on duty. It was great to have so many to keep thing under control. As we entered into the staff entrance, the looks on their faces of 4 guys walking with DJ bags was a sight to remember. I bet you they were all saying in their minds … “who the fuck are these punks?” Sound checks were underway as we got into Charlies and everything seem on point and ready for the show.

The room took awhile to fill, and for a few hrs I was very worried that it would be dead empty. It’s hard to maintain a hidden room, while all the MASSIVE headliners of the event of the summer are happening at the same time. Around 12:30am came around, I thought it was over for us, since Corsten and Sander was on killing it in the other rooms. Slowly I start to see the TOTAs and US - TAs appeared and they hung around for a long time. “Thanks to all those who supported our DJs, instead of the headliners!” The room was bumpin’ and rockin’ all night. Ppl kept coming in and out the room all night long and traffic was solid in Charlies.

At this point, I decided to walk around the complex and have a smoke before I head off to the jungle room. Wow, the complex was really busy! It wasn’t rammed to the point ppl were pissed off but, it was very very very busy! I went through every room to check things out, and surely it was hot everywhere. Got into the Drink and found Emery and AZ brockin’ out to jungle. BOH MOTHE******S! Andy C & GQ were 30 mins late, but once they got on … it was over! We had to move to the back b/c the place really rammed. (What do you expect, Andy C & GQ can fill any building of the CNE by themselves) We stayed in Drink for 20mins and decided to head back to Charlies. I was a bit worried about the room and wanted to see if we were closed at this point.

Once I got back into Charlies, all I saw sea of ppl still. The place was still very busy and the funny thing is, we should of closed 30 mins ago. Doubled checked on every DJ to see if they were ok and found out we were running out of vinyls very fast. We didn’t expect to have the room running past 3am and the DJs only had enuff to cover their slots. Around 5am, we officially ran out of vinyls and had to stop. Ppl didn’t want to leave and wanted to hear more tunes. Luckly Airel had one vinyl he haven’t played yet and threw it down as the encore. It’s too bad; I would have loved to keep the room running until 8am at least.

Through out the night, ppl kept asking Emery and I who were the DJs spinning and from what I saw, 80% of the crowd went up and greeted the DJs and complimented them. Every DJ spun on point and really flowed well with each other. I was so glad that everyone was enjoying our room, everyone was dancing and had so much fun! The vibe was great, lots of dancing space and the AC was blasting nicely!

DJs

Deep Groove : Never disspointing at all. Regardless what venue and time slot they get assigned. All I can say is … WHHHHHHAT ?

Aaron Mossey : Ok I guess you proved your point. You held it down proppa at the headling slot and made many heads turn. Unstoppable, Aaron killed it!

DJ Mute : What joker, this guy had some serious jet lag and was falling asleep. But once he got on, the man was on FIRE! Everyone loved his set! Some serious hard beats!

Ariel of Deep Groove & Aaron Mossey (B2B) : Wow, such a nice match and it was indeed a treat to see you guys spin. Very smooth flow and excellent transitions! Makes me wonder if with this is gonna happen again or not :P

Thank You :

To the Guvernment Complex for keeping your promises! And allowing Interference to be a part of the biggest event of the year. It’s a dream come true! You guys gave Interference and our DJs the exposure we needed and we are beyond greatful!

To all those who came to the Interference Room to hang out and party it up while the headliners were on! Without your support, that room would of closed early and we would never return to an all access event again.

Major thanks to all those who came out to Labour of Love III and especially the out of towners that came from all over North America for this celebration!

TOTA, you guys have a place in my hear forever and thank you for always make work fun for me!

Until the next event, thank you and take care!

I got in around 10:30ish (WTF? Line up that big at 10?) and stuck around Charley's for a while. (Caught some 20 mins of Sander but he didn't do much for me)

When Ferry came on, well, my hands didn't come down for first 2 hours. Then arms got kinda tired. :P

I've never seen Ferry live before and he didn't disappoint. The guy looks like he's having the most fun at the club when he's spinning. He's got that look on his face while DJing that he's having so much fun that you're feeling that you're having as much fun as him. It's like Ferry's invited you to his personal party and all he wants you to is to have fun. (Damn those security guards for ruining some of Ferry's fun) There were few spots where I felt he was losing some of the crowd but he dropped Punk and there was that.

Nu-NRG was pretty good too. When they dropped Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (I think it was Nu-NRG's mix) I almost died. I love that tune. But they didn't have Ferry's charisma on deck. I wish they were on longer than an hour.

Infusion was something new to me. Certainly different. The vocal guy's style was to get the crowd involved and he's still learning, I think. But overall an enjoyable set, though not something I want to listen to a lot.

It was like 6 something so I went to Charley's to crash out for 20 mins and then got second wind (who was dropping those tunes? they were awesome). Around 7 got back to Deko Ze and went hard until around 8 and then I called it quits.

Only disappointment I really had was I met no TOTAs! *grumbles something about lack of coordination)
Leave no TAs behind, guys. Let's try to get more new TAs involved.

Hope to see a lot of you at Armin/Infected Mushroom.

PS: Caught some of Mark Oliver too. Damn he's good.

It's like deja vu al over again. Showed up aroung 10:30 and same place in line as March for Ferry. Glad the line moved quicker this time. Got in just after 11.
Quick check into Charies, only saw 4 or 5 people, left for KH. Mark O put on a great set. Ferry contiued with another great set. For most of NuNrg was resting due to the heat. Infusion were good. liked their beat. Deko-Ze, was just soo tired by then too enjoy much of his set.
You know it is hot when at only 1am you already look like a drowned rat. spent most of the night on the KH floor tying to fight the heat. was nice that they were giving out popsicles at 5 am.. Over all had a great time.

got to the guv at like 10:30pm and damn that was a long line, it moved pretty fast though, by 11:10 we were in kool haus, i went to check out charlies but it was empty the time i went there so i just went back to kool haus and thats were i stayed all night long.

mark oliver - awesome opening

ferry corsten - wicked, great to hear so many of his own productions in the set, he was nice and lively behind the decks which was a plus as well.

nu nrg - im sad i missed them at viva and im glad i didnt miss them last night. these guys played and amazing set and it was a damn shame they only played for an hour.

infusion - a different style compared to what im used to but i have to take my hat off to these guys, they played an amazing live set and had the crowd moving, they blew me away for sure

deko-ze - great closing set with hard pounding beats

how i feel physically - hearing impaired with ringing sound in head and my legs are fuckin dead.

it was great to meet so many TA's last night, there were sooo many i couldnt meet all of you.

now that school starts for me tomorrow (tuesday sept 7), i have to take it easy, so that means i wont be going to so many parties. it has been a great summer, its a pity it has to come an end. thanks to those of you that i partied with and hope to see you at the guvernments 8th birthday bash. (no chance im missing armin and infected mushroom)
