I was expecting the same thing, actually. 
I didn't care for "Sinequanon" on Wide Angle, for example, but there must be some people who like it. Interesting how the rapping is in French.
The album is a double-edged sword because I've heard opinions that it should have been more danceable all the way through, while others like the variety of the downtempo numbers (and this became even more varied on Morning Sci-Fi, although for the life of me I like the B-side "Celebrity Science" a whole lot because it's like a game show -- the Running Man -- gone horribly badong).
Some people wonder, "When will Hybrid make another 'Finished Symphony'" but they went in a very different direction for their 2nd album. For the 3rd, who knows, but they are synonymous with crisp st-st-st-stuttered breaks production as well as the tech-symphonic sound.
Many of my fave tracks of Hybrid's are -- incidentally -- remixes.
