I thought when they put em in the theaters that's what they did. when the death star blew up the explosion was different, if I remember correctly. So I think they DID redo some of the special FX.

Yeah - but that still doesn't save Jabba in ep.4 from looking like he was cut and pasted in fscking Windows 95 Paint

Amazon is selling the trilogy for about $42 - that seems like a good enough deal to just pick up anyways

It's because Obi-Wan doesn't actually die til Vader slays him WHILE Obi-Wan's a grandpa. And you see Anakin as a young dude because these ghosts that you see are representing the Light Side. The last time Anakin was with the Light Side was Hayden Christensen era.
