I love the music in the "Tracks/Singles" section of this site, and I would like to go to a club that plays the same kind of music. I live in West GTA, but I can go downtown too. Do you have any recommendations?
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks in advance.
welcome to the scene !
the places that most of the people here have already mentioned are the spots to go but there are numerous other smaller parties that go on from time to time at different venues throughout the city. if u want more info on these u can always check out the events subforum here or drop by any record shop downtown (most of them are on Queen St. West) and just grab a stack of flyers and ur set ..
if u come out to System tommorow (Friday) make sure you let us know and we'll introduce you to some of the TA's ..
happy huntin !

edit: you might stumble upon some good techno
Chunky house never gets boring....I don't wanna start a trance vs house flame war in here so I won't add anything to that comment.

Indeed....welcome my friend. Tonight at system is a great party to explore a wide range of EDM styles (EDM = Electronic Dance music...a common acronym used around here) and it's a great way to meet some new friends on here...trust me....you will feel very welcome.

Thank you for all the great replies to my question.
At this risk of sounding like an idiot, the last time I went to a night club was in 1989 in England! I don't drink or smoke, but I love the music. So I'm wondering if there is a lot of smoking in the clubs you mentioned? Is there a dress code? Also, are these clubs a good place to meet nice girls in their early 20s who like the same kind of music? I'm asking because it seems to me that trance/EDM music is mostly liked by guys, and I am single and would like to meet a girl with similar interests as mine.
Sorry if my questions sound dumb. And thanks again for your valuable input.

No stupid questions my friend. To start, no clubs allow smoking in the main areas anymore due to the smoking bylaws tightened in June...so you can happily remain smoke free.
EDM and Trance clubs are focused on allowing it's patrons to dance and be comfortable for the long hours it provides music and entertainment thus no dress codes are maintained...just dress comfortable. Chances are if you ever go to a place WITH a dress code it is pretentious and something you'd want to avoid anyway...a few exceptions of course but a good guideline.
There are VERY beautiful women who love and celebrate the same music as we do. Yes at times, the ratio seems slanted to the male side but that is not to say coming out, BEING A GENTLEMAN, and sharing some good times cannot reap it's rewards
Cheers
FF

I'm a 30 year old college prof actually , but have been having disastrous luck in the love department lately. My best friend suggested I try going to places where I can meet girls with similar interests. Thus my presence on this forum.
Are there any sweet cute girls out there (early to mid-twenties) who would like to introduce a non-drinking, non-smoking, interesting newbie to the trance scene in Toronto?
