Hmm, I kinda understand both sides here, that is, Swamper as trancEaddict.com webmaster and StoMp2o0o (what a nick! ). I agree that it can be a bit annoying that people use a forum YOU built, administer etc. to advertise their stuff. It's a bit like going to in front of some newspaper stand and start shouting (free/cheaper newspapers! come to my stand instead!). Anyway, if people visit other sites, it doesn't mean that they wouldn't visit tranceaddict anymore... Stomp also pointed out pretty well that he is here for the scene; to provide something useful, just like Swamper and others are and I have to say that I appreciate that a lot.

So, in my opinion, as long as no-one floods or excessively advertises some other sites/crap, it's ok, BUT IT'S ALWAYS WEBMASTER'S CALL WHAT IS ALLOWED AND WHAT IS NOT - respect that. Nevertheless, I find it odd that some people start flaming about such things so heavily.

Perhaps some short text "Advertising is not allowed" would remove the possibility of an excuse "I didn't know it wasn't allowed" although I personally consider this as one of the unwritten rules in electronic bulletin boards.
