Clapping is great on EDM as the whole crowd gets into it.

Wooten is awesome, and his brother Future Man is the shizzn0r...hell all of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are....but then again, jazz is tops as far as actual musical insturment usage goes. I'm biased though cuz I played Latin/Jazz trumpet for in a comp/travel ensemble for 10 years.

Clapping is kinda gay...I found it difficult when it was done in jazz...especially since there are many tempo/bar changes in it...I think it's ok if the perfomer is promoting it....I've seen this at both music concerts and edm events...if the DJ is clapping...well...you clap too.

i dunno about any other gendres but EDM is made for clapping

dance music is about the crowd not the DJ

if the crowd is into it and clapping during a breakdown or something that's just about the best vibe that you can get in a club alla Twilo, Arc, etc
