I always say play safe if you're gonna buy cheap...
But from an authorised dealer so you have warranties etc if anything is wrong. It seems the biggest issue after sound quality with budget gear is the build quality, if you aren't impressed send it back and get something else.

I don't really see how a mixer with VCA faders can be affected by dust... the audio signal does not route directly through the faders, they simply provide control voltage to the VCA'a

Sounds like these things aren't up to much then. I'm not gonna bother with it if the sound quality is poor, as the mixer I have at the minute is very good in that department I just wanted to some effects till I have the cash for 5000fx and for 160 quid this sounded ok.

Oh well looks like I'm gonna have to put in some overtime over the next 2 months and save the money I need, anyway thanks for the feedback I always wondered why they where so cheap lol.

That's my back up plan if the Behringer disappoints!

yeah definitely save your money. the behringer djx700 is a god-awful attempt at a budget djm500 which simply doesn't work. the effect time parameters are pre set, and do not go any higher than about 139bpm, which totally sucks if you like any pace in your sets. but even if you don't its still annoying that you can't actually change it. and then theres the fact that you have to bloody memorise what all the program numbers are, useless for quick access to any effect.

i went for the vestax pcv275 + effects unit option, that works great. the numark 5000fx looks sweet, but i will reserve my judgement until i have had a play

okay well a mate of mine has got this mixer and i now own a DJM600...

the EQ dosnt compar the my DJM..
the effect dont compar to my DJM..
and faders and what not are great...

the plusses its a great 5 channel mixer if you on a budget okay... but its nothing the DJM500/600 the... most of the effects dont work... though the ones that do dont sound great but they are okay for what you paid for...

all in all if your on a budget go for it give it a try, if you dont like it just return it you know... though its nothing to a DJM if thats what your expecting to buy from the DJX700

Ive had my DJX-700 since it was released in Sweden and it sucks, really.
It used to rock my world (going from a Numark 1001X) but time really shows that this isnt quality, its crap.

* The faders are loose and are impossible to operate in a controlled manner.
* The effects are worthless, many of them are based on a fixed BPM, like echo and delay.
* Two of my channels are now leaking into all others.
* The effects knob is all but okay, seems to miss the channel selections.
* The volume faders are not precise for a mile, you have to crank it up to atleast 5½ or 6 on the scale to even hear anything.

Dont buy it, honestly.
Or buy mine.

I own a DJX700...Perfect sound quality when you dont crank the damn trim all the way up...Decent effects past #40 but theres no speed control like on the DJM600, I've had it for almost 2 months now, no problems, nothings breaking and no wear. I'd say go for getting it

Just like anything else in life, you get what you pay for. I had one of these 700's and here were the problems that I found: The faders didn't really pick anything up until around 6 or 7 and the effects BPM ranges were way too slow (or low).

Sure you get it home, open the box, and say "Just like a DJM600" After about an hour you say "Well, at least it looks like a DJM600".

Bottom line: Looks pretty fancy in your room if your on a budget. Just don't think your buying a carbon copy of the Pioneer because it ain't the same.

But hey, just spin some tunes and you'll figure it out.

PIECE OF SHIT MIXER DO NOT BUY. i've had one for a year and have had quite a few problems. FIrst i get a buzzing sound in my recordings. I tried eliminating the ground loop but that did nothing to fix the problem. Second one of my channel faders are starting to go. It would only play the left channel until i used some compressed air to remove the dust. The effects unit is shit. Simply stated, you can do alot better with the amount of money you are going to spend on this piece of garbage. Save your money and get something decent that you can resell should you decide that djing is not for you.
