Yea, but preplanning like that takes away from the creativity and art that is DJing. Most people preplan the first few tracks that they spin so they can warm themselves and the crowd up, as well as the read the crowd and see how they react. Other than that, the set should be drawn out, not outlined, than filling in the colors.

Yall really dont like to read.

Think ya missed this guys point Vlad.

You play what, maybe 20 tracks in a two hour set? You have 60 tracks on two CDs, thats still a fair bit of flexibility. You might only take 60-80 records to each club, so you have these on a few CDs rather than a mountain of vinyl. I wouldn't call taking a vast excess of music on CD preplanning.

I'm a vinyl guy myself..................

vlad, the fact is, if you burn 30 mp3s on one cd, it doesnt mean your set is preplanned. It means you burned 30 songs onto one cd. Normally, as in always, the tracks burned are in alphabetical order and not arranged how you would want them played in a set. There is nothing programmed about it.

Who said that he was gonna play the tracks in any preplanned order? Couldn't he just pick whatever song on the cd he wants at that time?

But I doubt that the tracks that someone is gonna put on 1 CD are just random - and it would be a pain to bring all your backup CD's and go through 75 tracks per CD. Whatever, Im not making an arguement that vinyl is better than CD, Im just saying, If your gonna burn a CD for the purpose to spin out with a high quantity of tracks, your doing it with tracks you plan beforehand to play. If your gonna play for 2 hours, your not gonna burn a CD with 50 tracks per CD, you will burn just enough to play those 2 hours. This might not be the case for some people, but most people take the easy way out.

You're not a true dj unless you spend at least 30 seconds a track searching through your record bag, come on, i thought everyone knew that.....

Secondly, if your using 30 songs on each CD... your set is obviously pre-planned because you have to arrange the tracks onto each CD so that you can mix in and out, again - lame.

You may be aware that a decent CD Dj would make two copies of the same CD to avoid pre planning for his gigs...

So this is NOT the point.

The point is VBR on CDDJ are pretty much unmixable, cos the rate changes every frame, most of cddj are unable to buffer or to respect the timeline... So pitch loops or samplers can be impossible to use...

Hence, the only choice you have is to burn them @ new in wav format to get full functionnality on your deck.

So mp3 is not that much interesting if you consider many releases won't be in CBR.
