No no no! I draw the beats and notes into the sequencer beforehand using the Pencil Tool.

Prefer Piano roll then Matrix... doesnt work well for me as I find it irritating. LOL...

I always use the Matrix.

Maybe this is why my music is not improving.

What the Matrix is, is basically a 32 note piano reel that loops, and can be used to control automation.

When I first started I was using the Matrix Sequencer to control my synths and the Redrum for percussion. I have since moved onto using the piano roll and using individual samplers for percussion. I feel you have much more control this way...

Yeah I am started to do that now a bit by copying a pattern into the piano reel then changing it around.

I am not very good at programming patterns yet though. Hard to find good info on it online [from what I seen].

i use matrix when i'm lazy.i use it for some boring simple acids to backround or 4x4 basslines
