Anyways, imo there are plenty of better djs out there and oakie is not nearly as good as he was back in the early 90s.
Without a doubt, Oakie Sucks ass. Oakie was good then because he was doing things that no one else thought of. The problem for him is that he hasn't changed with the times and DJs have got much better but he hasn't.
When I met Oakie, my ex-g/f said he looked like a neanderthal. He also pissed everyone off that works at the club that night. I wasn't playing that night but my friend opened up for him and he did the same thing with his last track. Just switched it off and thrust the record at him as if to say 'take this shit and get out of here'.
The guy can't mix or atleast can't be bothered to.
How about mixing in a track that will be right before a build-up when that record ends? I.e. trying to make the second record sound as part of the first.
Age Of Love - Age Of Love (Watch Out For The Stella Club Mix) is also a record with a climax as an ending. Works great with this trick.

he was a dick to my friend. You'll see in nov when spike tv comes out with their reality show the club. My friend got i think 3rd in a contest so he opened up on a night oakie did and got interviewed by him. he asked my buddy, "so are you going to be playing new songs or the same ones in your demo?"
heh, also oakie was playing off the dummy mixer. There were two mixers in the dj booth and both my buddy and the other dj played off one, but when oakie got on there he played off the other shut off one. heh, which means he was playing a cd. he said he moved over to the other mixer after a little while....classic.
