what mixer is this and what happens when you swap the rca cables? does the same channel on the mixer still not work or does the new channel you swapped to now doing the same thing?

i already know its a prob with the turntable because if i put it into the other channel on the mixer it still does the same thing. now i just need to figure out what exactly is cause int the prob. if i can get the cartridge apart i should be able to clean it... that should do the job

Some compressed air will do the trick. and make sure the contacts on the tone are clean too, when I bought my tables used, they were extremely dirty.

remove the stylus and make sure there's no guff in the contacts on the cart. also might be worth checking the cart wires if you are using a headshell mounted cart..
