unless you stutter, or cant pronounce certain letters/words i wouldnt bother with speech therapy.
instead, talk to the teachers and see what it is that you need to do to improve your verbal communication skills. after all, they are the ones that hear you speak, and hence, evaluate you (in this case, a low mark) which may go as far as hindering your acceptance into college.
back to topic though... i would suggest reading more, and reading out loud hearing yourself pronouncing words. dont focus on big words, but constructing your sentences so that you're clean and concise. and a little practice in public speaking never hurt anybody, especially myslef, who got so nervous, i couldnt make out a sentence.
