I usually put as many as I can fit onto the 80 mins.(usually about 8 or 9) If I have enough tunes from one artist to fill the cd then thats how I'll do it but if not then they go in styles or genres eg. vocals, basslines, trance or prog etc.
I don't have enought time to put 1 track to 1 cd, it would take me forever and I'd never have time to mix, I get pissed off doing it my way as it takes 20 mins to burn one full cd at 4x so I think I'd go mad if I did that.
I always try to burn my tunes as wav files and then convert them afterwards to prevent any loss in sound and save space but if I only have an mp3 copy then thats the only option.
I use a program called audio cleaning lab deluxe to do all this, it is really good as levels can be set before burning so all the tunes on the cd are the same level, one thing that really pisses me off is quite mp3s.
Once all this is done they are labeled up and put in a plastic wallet I have done 12 full cd's so far (about 100 tunes) since i've had my numark cdx (about a month) taking me a total of about 6 hours, it is time consuming but I suppose its worth it in the end.
