oh yea i got it. its good! the intakt instrument is good - theres alot of features on it which are just plain cool. like the time machine button which lets you change the tempo of a sample without changing the pitch. the samples on the whole are pretty good (but thats zero g for ya) and get this, the 1 gb of extra samples on top of the zero g sample libraries you get, well its all trance samples. heyyyy! they are pretty good too but you'll still need to layer them to get really pro sounds. the instrument is quite suited to atmospheric loops and by layering sample loops you can get some WEIRD sounds out of it. its not as versatile as i thought it would be but them ive never used a rompler before and i hear with alot of romplers you have limited control of what you can do with em. ive not even touched the surface of it yet but its impressive from the outset. cpu load isnt too bad. its nothing like reaktor. thank god. the reaktor demo *crippled* my PC.
the bad side? theres no external sample browser and theres no way of extracting one of the samples and using em outside of altered states. for example, you cant go into windows explorer and take out the wavs you want then cut them up and screw around with them. you have to cut them up and screw around with them inside altered states. and browsing for samples is a pain in the arse cuz theres so many of them (3,600 i think). also i the GUI looks good but like alot of native instrument stuff i just find it a bit fiddly cuz it hides alot of itself in tabs and pop down menus and stuff. if you are used to NI guis like reaktor and kontakt youd be right at home though.
overall i think it was a good purchase cuz im severely lacking sample based stuff/loop based grooves/atmospherics in my songs so im digging it. although theres this voice in the back of my mind that keeps saying 'you could have got spectrasonics atmosphere for the same price!'

nice one bruv,
you sound pretty pleased i think im gonna wiggle my toes in that pool
your sound card might have a recorder but if not have you heard of "total recorder" the demo version will even be long enough to capture the samples if you wanna fiddle with them more and use in other software record in "What You Hear" mode, just hit record and play sample, then crop in a sound editor, i know its seems like a weeks work doing all them samples but it might be worth it
i think im gonna go shopping in a min, me and sample CD's is like a woman shopping for shoes, just i dont use them once and chuck them in the cuboard,.. does my synth look fat in this hahaha
cheers m8 its good to get 1st hand recommendation rather than customer's testoment on home pages of site's
