If the main room is more trance, you could provide a commercial house alternative for a while, will keep people interested and is still good to have a drink to, to pick up chicks etc........
Really you can play any style as long as you keep it light and varied.

There are three superb ambient mixes in the amateur DJ Promotion forum. Check them out, there are some fantastic tunes and ambient mixes of trance tunes throughout.
Definately worth a listen and useful for you too if there are some songs you need to get hold of.
