Wrong? Only by relative societal standards intrinsic to those great hives of human civilization far from the chicken farms and the cow fields. Rallying up an organization won't save the animals from suffering... Who's going to save us?

exactly we are omnivores and for us to have a healthy diet we need meats. I dont care if we can survive on plants and vegetation, we can also survive on eating dirt, but i dont see you raising ur hand to do that. vegetation has feelings too you know (sarcasm at its all time best). listen man if u dont eat dont eat it. i truly dont give a shit, leaves more porkchops at the dinner for me. Well, insects are animals too. So those pesticides that you need to grow your precious grains, fruits, and vegetables? Yeah, you're basically carrying out a painful genocide using chemical weapons. That is, of course, not to mention the killing and habitat disruption of numerous endopedofauna and other animals associated with tilling and harvesting.

In order to feed the population without using these techniques which cause unnecessary harm to animals, almost every single one of uswould have to become subsistance farmers. Even then, if there was a drought, sudden increase in pest populations, or other agricultural problem there'd be widespread starvation.

It is the nature of life that you must destroy other life in order to preserve yourself. It is not an issue which one ought to take emotionally. Instead, a simple rational examination of the issue at hand should suffice: no matter what you do, many animals will be tortured and killed. So, you may as well do whatever you want!

Sometimes I wonder if vegetarians really think through the consequences of what they're suggesting. If everyone stopped eating meat then what would we do? Let all the livestock out into the wild? They don't have the physical and behavioral adaptations to survive in the wild anymore, so they'd all starve or be killed and their species would probably go extinct. Is that really what you want?

Of course there are also serious dietary concerns. While it is possible to live entirely off of plant-life, it would be difficult if not impossible to get an optimal protein-to-calorie ratio in your diet, especially if you can't afford or choose not to use supplements. This would result in the population growing physically weaker, shorter, and fatter, and possibly stupider because proteins rarely found outside meat are crucial in large quantities for proper brain development in fetuses, infants, and young children.

Vegetarian logic will never cease to amuse me.
