most prominent djs do everything in their power to obtain decent equipment. you should try selling things or getting a second job if dj'ing is really truely your passion

maybe 'prominent' wasn't the right word
but in all honesty, by using crap equipment... your not really going to progress anywhere especially if you wanna be a "better" dj.
yes prominent djs make money through producing, but they didnt start producing on a kmart tape recorder stealing melodies from pop songs on ugly phils top 30.
they would've made a few sacrifices in order to get some sort of decent equipment where mix tapes would at least sound half decent.
and yes soups your hearing this from a professional. if i had 3 kids to feed i wouldnt be wasting money a very expensive hobby. buy your kids some tonka products. im sure that would bring you alot more happiness than a new mixer

why? you monitor through the sound coming out of the speakers?

money doesnt buy you happiness either
but your gonna tell me you wouldnt be happy having a million bucks
and im not saying that you'll be a sick **** dj with top of the range equipment.... but if you wanted to take your mixing to the next level you can't really do much on shabby equipment. sacrifices need to be made to get to where you wanna be..
look at tiesto, he was cleaning toilets at raves for pocket money to buy records. thats sacrifice
and BEGIC, its cool man i dub tapes from top30 countdowns too.. got my recorder when target had 15% off everything in store
