Two alternates I'd put up for a DJM-600 are the Ecler Nuo5 and the Denon DN-X1500. The DJX700 is hardly an alternate. That would be like me looking at purchasing a car and saying I'll most likely be buying either a C6 Corvette or a Gremlin. They aren't anywhere near each other when you class equipment.

Ok, well you have all given me some good insight and further research to do. my next question is.

Can you provide me with places that you recommend to purchase, stores or websites, obviously the cheaper the better.

thanks again.

great setup, but like its already been said, there are alot better options to the djm600. I'd look at dnx1500, or nuo5. If youre not worried about effects, look into rane, or allen and heath.

As far as stores go, long and mcquade seems to be the best bet in canada. If you buy from the states, the shipping, and customs adds up. Also it can void the warantee.

Oh yeah, and if i were you, i would look into what djxtension said, and spend the money you save on the cdj on an allen and heath, or vestax with an external effects unit.

Here's a list of alternatives for the DJM-600:

- Ecler Nuo 5
- Denon X-1500
- Allen & Heath Xone

All of the above (including the Pioneer DJM-600) are quality mixers.

Just look at 'value-for-money'; what features do you get, and what features do you need?

My mixer has absolutely no special features (like FX, samplers, etc..) at all, but is built like a tank. It was expensive, but I know it will probably last longer than me.

I just came back from a club where I was DJing. It was my first time mixing using Berhinger DJX700. I have DJM-600 at home, I have mixed on all kinds of mixers at clubs, and I must say that the DJX700 is the WORST MIXER I HAVE EVER USED! The faders only start working almost only starting half way up, the EQs have almost no effect, the effects are useless, the UV meters are not even close to being correct, the sound quality is shitty, etc... Don't waste your money on this shitty mixer. I would rather play on a cheapest Pioneer mixer then this crap.
For almost 3 years that I've owned my DJM-600, it has been awesome. I am not planning on upgrading until Pioneer comes up with a newer model or Rane starts producing 4 Channel 12" mixers with effects built in. (Yes, I like the effects, and I don't want to carry an extra FX unit with me that I have to setup every freaking time).

xone 62 is just $100 more than the djm600

oh...also..

I think behringer has seen peoples comments towards the DJX700 & have upgraded it and fixed it a bit. I have my DJX700 here and sound quality is perfect. The EFX Are quite shit but the faders & crossfaders and EQ seem to be fine. I've tested the djm600 many times and there isn't really much difference to me
