service pack 2 is a bit of a bitch.. a few bugs that got through the testers..

argh.. my cousin has given me their laptop to fix, it has SP2 on it..

i think it just has issues with some intel chipsets. the computer i tested it on at work was an AMD chip, nForce 2 chipset. it locked the computer up totally (as in total screen freeze which is wierd for XP) whenever i plugged in the intel DSL modem.

needless to say i uninstalled that piece of crap. give me norton and blackice any fucking day.

was it a USB modem? might need to update the drivers of the modem to the latest version (if available)..

Firefox is free and a hell lot better than IE...

i have XP Pro sp2, everything works fine. But i disabled all the security options.
