promoter/club owners always have this same problem...a non packed club (esp in Orlando)
do I care? yes and no. Someone will always book a great act. I do MY BEST to help promote and make money for the club...if the club doenst get packed, it aint my fault as I have done my part...
club buiness is fickle...people dont know good music if it hits them in the face...and promotions these days SUCK. No posters on the door saying who was there...no marquee saying "tonight, one night only...HYBRID"
if I am in a club, I am not going ot turn around and say..."oh shit, I cant have agreat time because the club didnt get packed like I thought"
yeah, it was a shame...but as professionals, mike and chris made the most of it...they are friends with owner anyways...so who really knows how much the owner lost, if any...
and what I was sayng about change of pace...its not going to make or break a dj if there is a samll turn out for one night...an intimate crowd...accept it and enjoy it...I love Hybrid more than any of ya's (except maybe slackerboy)...so sorry if I got defensive but it shouldnt be complained about on any night Hybrid spins...becaus ethen people like that vero guy gets it stuck in his head that its HYBRID'S fault (which it isnt) taht things didnt get packed...and then other people might not give it a chance...
so as long as we are clear that Hybrid rocked it...I am fine
welcome to clubbing in the year 2004...it sucks

Sigh* Again you missed the point, it could be fun with 5 people if the music is good. My point is that if people don't start showing up THERE WILL BE NO MORE SHOWS!! You are wrong saying "SOMEONE WILL BOOK A BIG SHOW", NO THEY WON'T IF PEOPLE ARE NOT COMING OUT FOR THEM!Why do you think it was at Zinc to begin with? Because Icon did not want to jeopardize there new hip-hop friday nights, Which bring them more money than EDM acts. You are not seeing the forest for the trees my friend. You said it will not make or break the dj if there is no turn out, well of course not, they get paid regardless. But it hurts our scene if people don't come out and support the acts that do come.
Take your head out of Hybrids ass for a minute and realize that ifthe scene as a whole doesn't get better there won't be anything (Hybrid or anyone else)to see, or enjoy. sigh*
