So sorry

course all you old foggies are scared of the young whiper snapers probably!

not really. When i was underage they had tons of Underage clubs, that turned 18+ when i turned 18, and now mostly 21+ of course i'm over the limit!

most all age clubs now are candy kid raves.

I whish it was that way, unfortunatly promoters dont see any money from the bar. but for that they pay a small fee for the rent of the club. image is everything here in cali, so the crowds come to the biggest productions. and raves are now way way way underground. its sad cause alot of good talent is coming out to the bigger clubs, and the majority of the crowed could care less. and the crowds that could care less, are stuck to local talent.

Nope! Not even close! Sorry. A Hypnotic with OJ at Avalon costs $8. A Bottle of water costs $4. Nope, you can't over price water. You wont sell it. Sorry, I've been promoting all ages events for the past 10 years and the bar makes no where near a 21+ bar.

On Broadway in San Diego was chargin $8 for bottles of water when Tiesto was there. Just depends on the event/crowd I suppose, I know that's not their normal price.

Well- if you ask for tap water it wont be $8.

Just make sure you still tip them and they'll be more than happy to keep serving you tapwater.

Note California law states that any place that sells alcohol must be able to provide at least tap water at no cost...

So ask for tap water if you don't want to pay for water.

Nice tip. Didn't know that.

There are plenty of all age events in SoCA they're just not at the major clubs with the big DJs. They do tend to be overrun with Candy Kids/Etards. Very few if anybody is over 21. Plus, you have to deal with all the Etards laying all over the dance floor . . GF and I use to go to them all the time before she turned 21. I don't think they can offer enough money to get the big DJs. At Ferry, we paid $60 to get in, and then dropped another $100 on drinks (wasn't tough at $9 per drink ). You can't make that kind of money at all age events.

The only way all age events can afford big DJs is by throwing massives. But most all ages promoters dont have to money to do that.

When it comes to clubs, the promoter, the people who pay the DJ, never make money off of bar sales (at least, as far as I know).....so whatever the prices are at the bar doesn't have anything to do with it....

Unless the club itself books the DJs, then it does.

you are right, that's how it normally works out. In my last party, I rented out the venue for $2000, but I had to hire a staff to run the soda bar, and I had to pay to stock it too. But I could stock it with anything I wanted to. So I did cheap sodas and water. I sold them for $2 a soda, $1 waters. Not bad, cuz it cost me $60 to stock, and I made $500 in return. Hehehe. But normally, it works like you said.
