another disadvantage to belt drives is that unless you are really gentile, the platter will tip when you press on the record, scratching is almost out of the question as when you try, it makes the needle bounce, also another problem i recently had was that since the platter isnt strudy, it skips because the angle of the spin isnt exactly flat on the deck
belt drives just feel cheap over all, they work, but dont expect the best performance
that mixer is almost the same as mine accept its 3in bigger and it has peak meters for the channels

i own the gemsound package, not bad for beginners, but after about a year if youre still into it, you'll want to upgrade
