Nah, that's grocery store work. I have to walk around and make sure the front area (inside and out) is free of carts, the baskets are in their respective areas, put back any clothes or food left behind by the customer, and push carts in from the inside. Shitty job, but hey, it's money.

I'm just one of those unemployed bastards...

I quit my job at Wal-Mart after only about a week - I never even got to be a cashier, I just helped to open the store here in Naples. That was about 3 days ago that I quit by the way.

I just didn't get a good feeling from things - we were projected to have 18,000 customers walk through the doors last Wednesday, and I wasn't too keen on that, so I freaked-out, circled the parking lot for almost 2 hours looking for a spot, and eventually just went home. I filled out the sheets to quit on Friday - so I'm officially unemployed.

I'm looking towards a local Blockbuster right now - much more relaxed, probably pays more - utilizes my ability to actually speak English

I need to pay for gas, somehow

As for previous jobs? Well, as a High School Senior, I worked at a Taco Bell/KFC

I've got lotsa stories from working fast-food; you'd be surprised at the shit you see working a Drive-thru window at 1am

I should get promoted within a few weeks to full time with benefits, it is a decent place to work till the economy improves.

Are you at college?

I've got a feeling that you are far too articulate for such work and would become rather bored quickly.

I put in my two week's notice recently. My last day is this upcoming Saturday - I get to go in bright and early after Freaknight

But I fucking hate being a dishwasher at a restaurant. It's made worse that I have to take the bus there and that it takes over an hour each way... too far away for me. My mom wants to kick me out because of not having a backup job in mind, but she owes me too much for that to actually happen. Sucky job.

yeah i have a lazy co worker as well. i dont even care anymore about it.
if you care too much then it bothers you, and i dont need that. we all make the same amount anyway, so the harder i work one day/nite doesnt really make a difference at all, so i just work.

the lazy/dont care comment is great

there are no lazy people where I work, because otherwise you get fired fast. there're plenty of bussers who stand around talking, though, and that's annoying, when they stand right in the dish pit.

the longest shift I've done was 16 and a half hours. On average I do about 9-10 hours a week. I complain, bitch and moan, but I get paid very very well. And when I get grats (tips)...OMFG!!

And your story doesn't sound so bad. I'll post some of my stories if I remember tomorrow.
