Mass Transit is a fucking joke.
I was there for Scott Henry a few months ago and the whole idea just did't make sense.
First off, the people who work there were unorganized and unprofessional (Example: I was charged $5 at the door by the trophy chick accepting the cash. About 3 minutes later, after I entered the venue, the "promoter" tracked me down in the bathroom to collect an additional $2.00. He told me that the girl up front had made a mistake and that it was $7.00.) The miserable fuck wasn't even humble about collecting. And yes, I was sure that it was the promoter/owner because he seemed to be making a worthless attempt to run things the whole night.
As a business owner, once the sale is made you shouldn't run after the customer to ask them for more money. As a human, realize that you made a mistake and move on.
Secondly, the venue is completely wrong for the event. On one side you have high school kids playing pool and the other side people grooving with glow sticks. Now, there is no problem with both, but at this point one has to ask themself what kind of atmosphere is this place attempting to create? Maybe I was expecting a little too much, but their was no consistent vibe in that place at all.
Thirdly, what the fuck was up with the bouncers? At the stage, there was a guy leaning on a speaker and some testosterone-pumped idiot got in the guy's face, briskly told him "get up, bitch" and walked back to his post like the robot that he is. For someone who seemed completely harmless, there was no need for the bouncer to act so belligerent.
The bottom line: You couldn't pay me to go back to Mass Transit. Not even if Tiesto were to spin there. The location is aweful, the owners/promoters are incompetent, and the staff, at least the bouncers, need to learn how to handle conflict in a more professional way. Once again, Fuck Mass Transit.

Wow - that really sucks you had such an aweful experience. The person that may have asked you for an additional $2 (big frikin deal) was the owner of the venue - not the promoter - and yes I agree he should have just let it slide - but he is learning. Mass-Transit1 was the first major event we held there and of course there would be bugs to work out. The feedback from everyone else we know that went there was that the vibe was incredible, the music is awesome, and it was just an overall fun night. This is not a super-glam-club - it is a small intimate venue where you can experience the artists up close. I talked with the owners about any security people attitudes and had 2 of the security guys replaced / fired. The pool tables most people think are really cool - especially since they are so far away from the dance floor - so you have that area for more of a social setting - or if you want to submerge yourself in the music - head to the dance floor and bar area.
So what did you think of Joey Muniz, Suneel, and Scott Henry's set that night? I thought they were incredible and so did everyone else. What about the people and the vibe? Wasn't it so cool how pretty much everyone knew each other? Wasn't it cool how lara and becky run around passing out free glow stuff?
Sometimes when you read review after review of positiveness, and then another review that is all negativity - you have to wonder why. I hope you reconsider your decision and come back for MT4 w/ Joshua Ryan, Jon Deke, Empath, and Justin Peake. If you do come back out I'll buy you a drink to make up for any inconveniences you may have suffered.
Peace,
Andrew
PS - its a 21+ event so no high school kids are there.

The situation is that the we got the venue first, and we're trying to do the best event that we can there. Believe me, I'd prefer to be somewhere else. But for what it is, I think it's pretty good.
