Exactly what they said, I really only use volume for mixing, and the crossfader for tricks, and having a Denon X1500, I'm always messing with the crossfader as you can actually turn it into a wet/dry controller for effects.

I only browse this forum, but every single time I look, there's yet another thread asking about this subject - does anyone really care how they alter the volume on an incoming track? I certainly don't.
