We have a long experience with them. Both types include many who are full of arrogance and greed. This resemblance became clear in the Bush the father's visits to the region. ... He wound up being impressed by the royal and military regimes and envied them for staying decades in their positions and embezzling the nation's money with no supervision. He passed on tyranny and oppression to his son, and they called it the Patriot Act, under the pretext of fighting terror. Bush the father did well in placing his sons as governors and did not forget to pass on the expertise in fraud from the leaders of the (Mideast) region to Florida to use it in critical moments. --- We had agreed with the general emir Mohammed Atta, God bless his soul, to carry out all operations within 20 minutes before Bush and his administration noticed. It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the American armed forces would leave 50,000 of his citizens in the two towers to face these horrors alone. It appeared to him (Bush) that a little girl's talk about her goat and its butting was more important than the planes and their butting of the skyscrapers. That gave us three times the required time to carry out the operations, thank God.

This really gives you a different outlook on the entire 911 incident. We as a Western society tend to see things from such a ethnocentric perspective, that we often fail to ever consider another's point of view. Most people never give the time of day to entertain the though, that because of Bush's mandate hundreds of thousands have suffered and died around the world. However, once the threat enters our backyard and disrupts the very social fabric that encapsulates the Western culture, we are then all of a sudden vehemently appalled and shocked . Its not to say that I agree with the deplorable killing that went on at the hands of Bin Laden, I merely try to highlight the alternative perspective which so many of us elude.

You can attempt to acknowledge the other side of the story, but it won't take long to realize, via the use of reason and intellect, that the grand delusions of bin laden and his ilk along with the appeasers and pacifists in our society are just plain wrong. The superiority of Western Society is not "ethnocentric," it is objective fact. The fact that we are appalled and shocked by acts of barbarity, whether in the form of suicidal/homicidal killings of innocent civillians, female genital mutilation in Africa, beating a woman for exposing her face in public, slaughtering black Christians in Africa, holding school children hostage in Russia..(I could go on and on..)..is not a bad thing, it is a profoundly MORAL thing.

So the bin ladens of the world want to bring America (or more broadly Western civilization) to it's knees because we believe people should be free to exchange goods and services and make good lives for themselves? Because we allow people to enjoy life outside the narrow prescription of some backward and fundamentalist theology? Because we are powerful and prosperous due to the very fact that we have freedom (or what hasn't been taken away by the "progressive" encroachment of government). Because we can be creative, express ourselves, believe in a different God or none at all? Because we like to go clubbing (oh, we're such infidels!)?

It doesn't seem like the US government really cares about the atrocities being done in these "backward" countries as long as they are getting the commodity be it oil (Saudi Arabia) or cheap labour (China). Now I'm not saying this is a totally bad thing, as at least they're in the country which that allows them to cause change. There just seems a lack of effort to do so which makes people skeptical about the claims that the US is making the world a better place.
