Please don't say anything about skills, everyone knows who DJ Tiesto is. What I have seen and heard at PVD set, can't compare to DJ Tiesto skills!

This is ridiculous!
Whats wrong with getting into your set and trying to concentrate on mixing every track to perfection (PVD!)
You just like uplifting trance better than just trance, leave it at that!
Tiesto is a great DJ, but not just because he interacts with the crowd!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Shame / Disagreement

OK this is just a silly argument.
To each his own I completely agree.

Tiesto vs. PVD
OK firstly Tiesto plays mostly uplifting stuff and some progressive as of late. Paul Van Dyk on the other hand plays a variety of styles: electro, breaks, techno, hard-trance, uplifting and any other type of electronic he likes.
There is nothing to compare, they are two completely different DJ's.
I love Tiesto don't get me wrong, but I enjoyed PVD's set a lot more, he build up more energy (at least for me) and all those breaks. It was just perfect timing. If you had been dancing all night like me, you would notice that he would play really hard tracks for 20-25 min and than cool it off a bit and than bang the shit out again.
Secondly did you see any promotions of his new album? Where tell me how did he promote his new album? It's not even out yet!
As for the crowd! The crowd at PVD was a lot better, they were people that knew who PVD was, as for Tiesto it was just a big ass GINO fest!
THe atmosphere, the crowd and the set were all just perfect maybe a little short. PVD closed himself, where as for Addy had to close for Tiesto, and House/progressive house did not really do it for me after Tiesto's set. At PVD the GINO ratio was like 1/25 as for Tiesto it was more like 10/25.
As for the emotions, if you had been looking at PVD close enough, he waived a couple of times. He did some stuff with his hands like he was playing the drums and/or playing the piano. I agree he may not have been in the greatest mood ever, but do you really care how well Tiesto feels when you go see his set? That's the whole thing with DJ's they play whatever they feel best suits their mood. As for mixing skills there is no where to compare. PVD is just so much better, not that I don't like Tiesto. PVD has to be more skilled to switch between the types of electronic music he plays (i.e. from breaks to trance). As for Tiesto, well he just plays Trance, I am not trying to bash Tiesto's mixing skills. I am just saying that PVD is way more skilled in many area's.

Whatever your point of view is, it is totally up to u. But I would have to say that some of your arguments against PVD don't make sence. BUt whatever, I liked Wen night way better than Kool Haus.

P.S. I still think that the sound system at the GUV is better than Kool Haus.

Just to make a quick comment...

I never got to see Tiesto this time around, but I am a fan of the "entertainer" dj too. I still to this day think Max Graham is a pioneer at going out of his way to impress the crowd.

However the point I want to bring up was the argument of the better mixer. I found on wed night pvd did a lot of mixing in which the first song dies to which the second song is just sitting there. The math mix I call it, its when you know the songs will automatically match up if you know the beat drops and such. I'm not complaining I just didn't find pvd as on the ball as usual. He was also very very quick at mixing out of some songs?!? He'd play the first minute then mix out of it?! hah

HOWEVER to completely contradict myself. PVD did some quality mixing in which he'd drop one song slowly and all of a sudden the second song would turn into that one. He did it once soo well, I was in utter amazement. They are both probably the best dj's of our time.

Jon

Ok guys i'm sure u are not going to like what i will say now

Tiesto is an entertainer , he will soon become just like Oakenfold if he continues like that .

Paul Van Dyk is an Artist , not an entertainer , he's not there to raise his hands with you and smile @ you

Tiesto is for ginos , shirtless sweating guys , vicks smelling kids and others ...

Paul Van Dyk is for mature crowd , for people who want good music , not for people who wants to dance their ass off

I still respect DJ Tiesto , but please don't say Paul Van Dyk sucks comparing to him . U can't compare an artist with an entertainer

I totally agree with you on this FASTDJMP3. PVD is an artist, while Tiesto is simply a good mixer. Too funny : vicks smelling kids. I've had some "dudes" approach me and ask if I wanted some vicks rubbed on my neck. Very strange!

Oh Oh.. Gays are invading the trance scene. I'd better not go where gays are going to be, because that might turn me into a homosexual. . I'm being sarcastic. There’s no trance dj gayer then the next! If I know you're going to be at the same club as I am going to be, I think I'll go up to you and lick your face just to watch you shit yourself.

YOu sound like an inbred Vivid Boy!

tiesto will become like oakenfold? riiiiight, where do u get of saying this? because he played ppk - resurrection? which just happens to be an amazing track? maybe you shouldnt compare tracklists as much and start paying attention to actually what the set sounds like and how its put together?? and one other thing i failed to mention, there is noone better than tiesto at reading the crowd!! he knows exactly what track to drop at exactly the right time!! ok, so then tiesto is an entertainer and not an artist? where u get this from? personally, i find tiesto a much much better producer than pvd... all his tracks are quality!!!
