Oh boy. The republicans must really be desperate when they release such things as the letter quoted in the opening post. Talk about incoherent bablings: The number of casualties has gone up ever since june should in some way be an effect of criticism of Bush's handling of Iraq? Where's the evidence of that? It seems like the writer is confirming the antecedent here.
Furthermore, the fact that a lot of radical fanatics support Kerry (i.e. are against Bush) does not mean that only radical fanatics support him, and hence, that you will be a radical fanatic if you support him. Again a case of confirming the antecedent. I hope the average US-voter can see through the flawed logic here.
A similar case, against Bush, could be like this:
"The number of casualties has been rising steadily ever since Bush started talking more about continuing his current strategy in Iraq. The claim that he regretted nothing and would continue his unilateralistic imperialist ways have aggrevated Iraqi insurgents, and hence, the number of casualties has gone up.
In addition to this, three people in Texas with an IQ below 80, who believe in creationism and are members of the KKK, are voting Bush. Thus, if you vote Bush you are stupid, in conflict with modern thinking, and a racist."
