You misunderstood me. I am Christian AND I voted for Kerry. I was simply illustrating my point, that people are sheep, and will follow somebody in violence as long as they claim to be doing it "in the name of Christ." Look at the Inquisition.

We don't live in a freakin parable, we live in the real world.

It isn't an eye for an eye, if it was an eye for an eye we would have mercilessly killed 3,200 saudi citizens for no reason at all. Bush uses his religion to give himself strength to make decisions, he doesn't make decisions based on passages from the bible. He hasn't hijacked Christianity, just because he is openly religious doesn't mean the guy is a robot. He doesn't use religion as an excuse, he uses freedom as an excuse which is a right of any creature, religious or not.

Saying Christ wouldn't accept Bush's foreign policy is just absurd, having countries and borders separating the people of this world would also be against the writings in the bible but we aren't going to stop that tomorrow. Stop the dream world references.

(but then, if 'they' actually thought they had a convincing, well thought arguement, they'd do it with tact, grammer and spelling...)

It's funny how people like speedracer_mec post stuff like that.

Anyone looking from the outside in (from overseas or whatever) would see how extreamly close this election was. I know that Bush fans are happy that Bush won, but they should be extreamly humble in saying so (including Bush) knowing that and seeing that things may not always turn out that way.

If Kerry won I would be telling the democrats the same thing. Uhuh.

Why do I bring religion into this discussion?

Because alot of my right-wing friends seem to beleive Bush is in accord with Christianity. Polls show this issue was of prime concern for voters.

I am hoping to prove this central tenet of Bush,religious morality, to be false and not in accord with the Christian faith. Why? Because obviously alot of Southern voters do not understand their faith and voted for the wrong man.

From my understanding of Christ, Bush is not the canidate of moral leadership. He has cleverly pushed forth certian ideas he is in accord with the Faith ( Gay Marriage ) yet wisely not discuss actions he has done while in office which has gone against the Faith; war and economic policy are a few that come to my mind.

There's a good book written by Eric Alterman on this, called "The Book on Bush: How George W. Bush (mis)leads America" which points out very thoroughly how he has developed policies that are in direct conflict with the public statements he makes about the same issues.

At least on the bright side, there's gonna be 4 more years of the twins. Very disappointed I missed them at Soundbar when they were there a month ago.
