Very true - in fact, most of the people who seem to be able to pull this stuff off started doing Gymnastics first, then moved on to very gymnastic-related martial arts such as TaeKwonDo and Capoeira. People such as Joe Eigo aren't martial artists first - Joe's a breakdancer who's dabbled in the martial arts, but mainly does gymnastics...even though he's part of Jackie Chan's stunt team, he's a performer first.
Tim Pas, however, is a martial artist. This was just a clip showcasing some of his gymnastic ability - if you'd checked out his site, you'd see that he has vids of him doing Koryo Poomse, participating in some martial arts competetions, and dealing with weapons such as bo staffs, nunchaku, Chinese Broadsword, etc...
This is just a recruiting measure.
