Basically this is because he is on my MSN (I'm trying to help, doesn't seem to work) and he really seems like he wants to buy the 90s over the 100s, he seems to see them as having the same motor, cos there 2.2kg each, I told him there different inside as the poles and phases are different, so it is not the same motor, and now he wants to know what it all means, I did try telling him I can't see that Stanton are gonna release a lower model like the 90s, which are cheaper and of course have a lower model number, that are better than a set of there higher end decks the 100s.
I dunno, I give up.

Thats similar to what I was gonna say, it took me a while to think back to yr 12 physics though!
The more poles (magnets) you have around the motor the more uniform the magnetic field will be, giving more precise control of the spindle (more accurate)
I would suggest its not important, theres a limit to how effective having nore and more poles is, there is probably not much difference between 16 or 12 poles, 12 would be close enough for it not to be much of a problem, the field is probably pretty close to uniform.
Physics isn't really my field, so please feel free to correct me.
