Diplomacy and international relations is a very fluid and delicate process...nobody has ever actually cared about "someone else", everyone ONLY cares for the benefit and end result of his own country's agenda 
Although I didn't know that Britain is Israel's biggest trading partner (if that's what you meant be "we"). That's pretty cool considering I love Britain hehe...

Actually now that I think about it, Israel used to be in British hands, as a mandate, that's one of the few areas that was controlled by Britain rather than France for example...so it would make a lot of sense that Britain would be in close relations with Israel.
