yes but theres no need to act like an ass while you are doing it. good manners isnt exactly hard work. you could just as easily direct someone to the relevant thread rather than get pissed off about it and it wouldnt require any more effort.

I personally would recommend Z3ta+ as the first thing to look into (actually if you want to learn just the very basics, even fruity's own 3xOsc is nice though it sounds pretty shitty), but that's just my personal opinion and i'm in no way an expert in this producing thing

i own both z3ta and vanguard and id say i have a pretty infinite trance studio now.these are both imo the best trance synhs money can buy(software that is) get these two, realy get into them, read the manuals and learn them inside and out so you can can do anything you want them,make them anything you choose.make any sound.i still use presets for sure but now i tweek them to entirely unreconizeable sounds then they were before.and some day i hope to design my own patches.you say you want the best starting equipmwn imo those are the best

i do think zeta+ is an awesome instrument and its gonna be mine this christmas (mwahah!) but it is difficult to program - especially for a beginner! with vanguard, everything is laid out in front of you. its all clean and the layout makes sense and is ordered so that you start modifying the ocillators, then the LFOs, then the filter to get the timbre right, then the envelope to get the dynamic of the sound right, then you pile on the FX. you can follow it in that order and its a good way to learn how to start build instruments. with zeta+ you kind of need to know what you are doing otherwise its a bit of a nightmare. the layout is pretty bad i think, but only because its so feature packed that it has to hide half of itself in drop down tabs and extra pages.

also, although i think linplug albino is another awesome instrument i wouldnt recommend it as a first synth. the mod matrix on that still stumps me completely. i feel like theres half of the instrument i dont even touch cuz it confuses the living daylights out of me.

i would recommend superwave trance pro/superwave pro bundle because it only costs something like 24 quid. the presets are instant trance and most of the stuff i program out of it is detuned saw/ramp leads. it does have a myriad of problems with it - such as the LFO retrigger which is just annoying and the glitch where it plays incorrectly for the first couple of seconds then triggers the LFO. and the filter is temperamental. and superwave dont update anything and barely even support their products. but i never noticed or cared about any of this when i first started out cuz it sounded nifty straight away and it was easy to program. i rarely use it now though
