catching the vibe i wanted was much more important to me then the beatmixing, as far as the beatmixing goes, i was just having some fun.
usually my recordings at home come off rather choppy on the beatmixes
but when im at a club i dont have any problems at all, i wonder why that is. |
hi mate, well you certainly caught the vibe! i thought the track selection was great, particularly in the 2nd half of the set. as people have already said, the beatmatching is a little dicey at times, but its not something that ruins the set IMO, i have heard a lot worse out in clubs! some cracking tunes in there tho and thats what made the set for me. its a nice kind of chilled (ish) rolling vibe, with energy injected where its needed.
my only problem with the set is the fact that you mixed out of new time new place way too early in my books
definitely practice the beatmatching, i find its best not to bother with a set in order to practice the beatmatching to make sure you concentrate on it. just have one record playing and another beatmatching, and keep at it until you have it as perfect as it will get, leave it in for 1 minute, then get another record out and beatmatch it etc etc, all to the same record. it might get a bit tedious listening to the same record over and over but i find that it works
anyways, your aim with the set has definitely been fulfilled, i loved the vibe
on a side note, you mentioned you find it easier in a club? i usually find that the louder the music the easier it is.
