when I moved from Numark TT-1's to MK5's there was a bit of a learning curve. The pitch fader is different and manipulating the record is different. Give it some time.

haha, check me out: i can't mix from technics to technics.

my friend has 2 sl1200 mk2s which are pretty much beaten to shit. they were the first techs i've ever touched tho, and even with the pitch control WAYYYY out of whack (i'm talking it needs major recalibration), a platter with dots that are worn, a motor that seems weaker than it should be (compared to other techs i've used) i can mix flawlessly (not bragging, but it amazes me how i can mix so second nature and effortlessly with them).

i go to another friends house. he has 2 pristine, impeccable tech12 mk2's, red. i can't match records for longer than 10 seconds. i try to correct, the motor is stronger, so i'm either doing it too soft, or trying to do it right and do it too hard. i move the pitch slider, it's tight as a virgin and i move it too little or too far. plain headache.

My advice is to get used them because if you ever end up playing out, you're gonna thanking your lucky stars you have M5Gs! Seriously, they're a dream to mix on once you get used to em!
