Next thing you know people will start complaining of platterburn on their fingers

Just think... one day DJ's will be recognized by their calluses and fingerless hands

Hey...maybe gemini is taking it a step farther and making wicked decks I'd definately buy them if someone bought them, or they had them at guitar center and I were to test them

the dots on a technics deck are next to useless. the only use they have is to make sure your pitch fader is 100% on where it should be, but they make life more difficult if you want to use the platter to slow a track down, when compared to the niceness of a ttx1, pdx2000 or these gemini's.

when i phase two records that are not at 0% i use the dots to get a idea of how fast each deck is spinning.

Use the dots to check if the motor is wearing out, and I've never had any problems with manipulating the deck.

Thats what I was thinking. Those huge craters, man you get your finger stuck in one of those and you can kiss it goodbye..

why? who cares how fast the platter is spinning so long as it holds pitch (which it does) and the record is at the right speed (which it should be)

if you compared the platter on a tech to the platter on another high torque deck (for the sake of argument, my pdx2000) you will find it much easier to get a precise adjustment using the platter on the pdx's because they havent got such a rough surface and thus less friction + even surface = more control.

if you used one of these gemini decks, the same would be true. those dints are very smooth and are made for manipulation, unlike the dots on a tech.
