As you can see, the above is merely bullshite

The whole thing is bullshite beacuse there is no danger whatsoever of nuclear war so all those orange splodges above your home town are...bullshite

But, lets say it did happen (not sure how cos it would take either Russia or China to do it and neither of them will) if I were to be affected it would becuase I live in Yorkshire (albeit the nice bi - South Yorkshire) and Menwith Hills and RAF Fylingdales would be targeted first, but with some lucky eastern blowing wind, I would be safe, and better yet, L**ds, Manchester and Liverpool would be taken out.

(Unfortunately I just realised I moved from sheffield to leeds three months ago but only for uni so hopefully the nukes will drop after next september when my dissertation will be safely handed in)

Wow, people need to relax a little bit. These are FEMA (Federal Emergency Managment Agency) maps dating back to 1990 that were intended for FEMA personel to get an idea of the damage in a nuclear war. YOu know how the army war college plans for every war scenario and conducts war games? FEMA plans for every disaster scenario to get an idea of how to respond in such a situation. I don't understand where you all formulate the link that this is evidence of gov't propoganda or fear mongering since these maps weren't distributed to the public at the time and were for internal FEMA use only. Use some common sense here, I'm sure the last thing the government wants is for citizens to look at these maps and start moving out of all the cities or kill zones to middle of nowhere areas.

At any rate, the possiblity of nuclear war is extremely remote, however, both countries still have their nuclear launch protocols set to minutes and given the fact that there have been 4 major false alarms that have brought us to the brink of war in 1979 and 1980 (american false alarms) in 1983 and 1995 (russian false alarms), I would say the threat is still something to be respected.
