vst support will not happen. Reason supposed to be something like a standalone hardware workstation.

Damn, Reason was perfect except for the vst support..
I wonder what they can do better in 3.0 that cannot be done in 2.5

the vst are not inevitably useful as imo one can do everything with synths of Reason. Perhaps it misses a multiband compressor and the possibility of recording sounds as in Cubase.

Actually, I remember reading on the propellerheads.com forum that alongside the ReCombinator, there's gonna be a few new devices in Reason 3.0. "Another new module is MClass, a mastering suite featuring a four-band parametric and shelving EQ, a compressor/maximiser and a look-ahead limiter." [quoted from soundonsound.com]
