My stupid front-wheel-drive Toyota handles like shit in this weather. And I mean literally like shit. I could attach a steering wheel to a giant turd and it would probably perform better than my car.

But that's STILL not a fucking excuse to drive 70 in the left lane on the 401 when there's nothing but empty fucking space in front of you! Oh and don't even THINK about signalling your turns or lane changes, that might eat up precious milliseconds of concentration that might otherwise be spent on the HUNDREDS OF METRES OF EMPTY ROAD!

...get some WINTER tires, dude. You think your car handles badly, you try driving a car with all-seasons AND a full airbag suspension system. DANNNNNNNGEROUS. I was stupid to do that.

All seasons are complete shit, and I hope they get outlawed in the future as was rumoured recently.

I love my Bridgestone Blizzak WS50 Winterbiters. Absolutely amazing winter tires they are, and not too expensive (about $100 each, depending where ya go). I had my heart set on Nokian Hakkapelliita RSi tires, but nobody in the area sells them No matter, WS50s are second best.

I drove the first year with my all-seasons and it had barely any grip. After that first season I purchased Pirelli Winter 210 Snowsports and they are great! One can drive with confidence. I highly recommend getting snow tires.

Holy crap. I saw something really scary too on the way home. I'm in the car with my dad on the way home from Toronto when I see an ambulance way up ahead coming towards us with lights and sirens blazing. We all are stopped at an intersection with the light green in the perpendicular direction. Of course the ambulance goes onto the opposite side of the road to get through the intersection, where some tool who wasn't paying attention to the loud sirens or flashing lights makes a huge left turn and slams on the breaks before the ambulance and his car get in a head-on collison. Lucky there wasn't ice on the road of we'd have been calling a few more ambulances.

Drive safe guys/gals.

Well imagine taking a turn, as you normally would, or even more carefully than you would in ice/snow. Now imagine LOSING CONTROL at that turn out of nowhere, and your either get heavy understeer or oversteer (fishtailing). The reaction is so sudden that you panic and begin to brake or let your foot off the gas & countersteer. Ooops - the pendulum force is now getting your car to fishtail the other way. Or the braking makes the slide even worse!

When i was first learning to drive, my father got me to drive to downtown toronto in a blizzard in 2001 I think with all-season tires, in our '86 RWD Volvo. Basically he told me to take it extremely easy. You gotta know the limits of the car & keep waaay below them to create a "safety" buffer. That was a bit of a risky lesson. No sudden movements either. Even with all of that, a patch of black ice can still screw you over im sure.. and sliding at highway speeds would definitely be very dangerous.

I'm not gonna like driving to school (Oakville, Sheridan) in January/February
