I just moved to them this year, never used them before, have no other services with them. I pay $136/month for a 2002 RSX Type S, I turn 26 in two months. I have 1 minor speeding ticket in the last 3 years (they knew about this), and top it off, I live downtown (higher insurance rates).

Ps. no I'm not talking to myself, just adding more.

I pay 146/month but for a 10 month year. i also have some extra coverage where my first accident doesn't count in the books.

the only problem with them is that you really have to have a good driving record. and the deductible is 1000 your first year and drops 20% with every year but eventually will be 0.

Meloche Monnex is a great option if you have your P. Eng. (as I know there are a lot of Engineers on the boards). They have special rates for those with a professional affiliation. I just switched to them and reduced my insurance from 1300 annually to 1118. Remember though...I am old and have been driving since '89 with no accidents in the last 10 years...so my rate is pretty good.

I use Meloche Monnex for my renters insurance as well as they gave me a great rate due to my P.Eng status. Seems that reading some of that "flyer" mail I get each week from Meloche actually paid off.

tbh, I got my group rates thru the community college I was at in calgary.
somebody certainly has UofT as their group, possibly a few, or maybe its done per faculty/college or whatnot..I dont know.

to figure it out, I would call the insurance company and ask if they have group rates for UofT students or Alumni. Youve already got a degree right, so you could ask about that school as well.
