Just got home (London) from the hotel and chilling in Toronto.
I arrived last night about 10:45 and holy shit it was already filling up. By the time Liquid Todd came on at midnight it was the general full crowd.
Liquid Todd had a nice opening set for Oakie. Energy levels were dropping midway through but he picked it back up near the end.
Then you saw the man himself setting up backstage. His newly grown out hair so you knew it was him. The intensity building as Liquid Todd started banging it hard. Then there it was. Oakie dropped in with "Sarah McLachlan - World On Fire (Junkie XL mix)" and holy crap the crowd lost it. The people up front with the big signs screaming out "TUNE" were awsome. It was rammed packed at this point. Sweaty bodies everywhere mashing as one together in trance unicine. It was a little packed and annoying with all the retarded cracky-asians pushing and shoving, but whatever. Oakie pumped out "DJ Tiesto - Traffic" right after "... Fire" and I'm sorry, I just lost it. From that point on I totally lost myself in the music. When he dropped my tune of the month, "Dogzilla - Your Eyes" I just went ballistic. I've never danced so hard for a set before. He had a choice set, very well done. To be honest, his set seemed lacking in the mixing range though. Very short and quick, hardly any overlay, but his track selection totally made up for it.
At this point Mark came on opening with the same set as last time I was there with Junkie XL/Rank 1 which was "DJ Tiesto - Ancient History" which of course I love. After this I had to sit down for a while. It was still poaring outside so I had to end up meshing in with the E-head asians up on the lounge stage for a bit. To be honest, Mark was just killing it. Throwing out tune after tune...just amazing (as per usual). I left about 5:30am right after "Jump the Next Train" as I totally danced myself out to Oakie's set and couldn't do anymore.
Great seeing all the TA's out (too bad I missed you Shaya but thanks for the GL).
Question, what track was it that Oakie played where it was the same song as the vid I have titled, "Johan Gielen - Live at Viva Nightclub - Madness on the Decks - 03-07-2003". Love that track.
I'm heading to bed for a nap now. Great night everyone

I was there for Mark's opening set. He played great as usual. I had a first time guv person with me and all she could say was holy crap!! And that was before the light show even started. All i could say to her as we stood in the booth was "this is nothing, wait till you see later on when the lights get crazy"
After Mark's set i went into the drink and listened to manzone and strong. I wasn't much interested in the guests that night anyways and M&S were doing a great job
