Proxi, no need to make fun of her....

She is correct in my eyes.... I went to Europe a couple of months ago - she is simply conveying the stories from what she's heard. I saw for myself - nothing much has seemed to have changed (from the tourist perspective) - they still prefer the local currency everywhere, and a lot of places will accept the euro, but give you change in their local currency....

When i first went over there i was excited about the euro, making everything really easy... but in the end, it just made things worse. I was carrying Euro around with me everywhere, and was getting change in the local currencies everywhere.. so in the end i was carrying an EXTRA currency.

All in all i think its a good idea, but only if they can implement it fully! Still kinda in the training stages now i think, even after 2 years. Again, i dont live over there, and dont claim to keep updated with it, but this has been my experiences from travelling to europe (i go there a lot).

you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. i agree very much with dawn's post. It is gonna be hard to calculate what all the articles will be worth in our own currency and damn...not to mention the prices that will be raised. And the Italian Lire for example.....it's worth shit! And that affects the entire currency of the euro...

And I don't like the fact that we are gonna lose our own guilders...I know people that saved up all the coins and bills and they made a collage out of it lol...i can't get myself to do that because I ned all the money that I can lay my hands upon

Anywayz...this is all very convenient for all you tourists...and we are gonna get all the trouble that comes with it....like dawn said...."what about all the coin machines"
i heard them say that they will change them in the 1 or 2 months in which we can get used to the euro...

A well...I'll see how it will go

HAHAHAHHAA.. THIS POST ALSO MADE ME LAUGH LIKE HELL!!

isnt that funny.. how people just laugh about each others opinions..
hellooooooo... first of all.. your post didnt SAY ANYTHING.. you basically just COPIED DAWN'S post using different words.. HAHAHAHAHHAA....

faye.. said something right.. the money aint gonna change.. I have family in italy.. and i know what i am talking about.. i like in the UK.. i told her about it.. so if you want to blame someone for not knowing what they are talking about.. that person would be me.. SOMEONE WHOS DEFINATELY NOT A TOURIST FOR EUROPE.. but i ceartanly dont give a a crap about the euro anyways..!!!

bye..

DAWN!@!!!!!!

Nice to see you made it back in one piece, ABT!!!

But I have to comment on this. I don't know what you had in your wallet, but it was NOT THE EURO! This currency has NOT been made available to people yet. You cannot pay with it because nobody has it. The banks have just started to spread the money, but only to other banks and stores. These have to keep them until January and then they will have to give you euro for change no matter with what you paid. K?

Let's chat soon, and thanks for all those postcards!!!

Whatever it was, it definitely wasn`t the euro.....lol

As for all the british people: Not taking part in the euro is one of the biggest disadvantages your country can have....

fellow Europeans I'm not like trying to seperate and isolate us European countries right but having your own currency is like having your own flag, changing to euro means in a way we slightly lose our identities as countries, its just like making us all speak one fucking language, I'm pretty glad England (where I live) has kept out of the euro but i agree with trance luva that the £ will be no more sooner or later cos more and more politians in this country seem to be for the euro. DJ Dawn good point about vending machines also if u get your wages in Euro how the fuck are we supposed to work out rent, prices and things like that its just confusing, pointless, and a waste of time, doe's everyone think we should be walking currency converters, no keep the original currencies ,we should keep our currencies and not lose our identities
