If I worked at the rock and roll station, you are 'a'DJ....it has no bearing on actually mixing tracks together or scratching...it just involves putting the record/cd in and playing it, taking requests, phone calls and pressing play on the adverts...heck I don't think any of the mixing/scratching started until around '78, and if you were to even mention "mixing" to 90% of radio "DJ's" they may think you were the one that was mis-guided. It's just funny that the same term, DJ, Disc Jockey has elvolved the way it has rather than calling 'us' "Seamless Electronic Choon Mixing Guys" or "Dudes that Attempt to Damage records by making them sound funny". 
It's kind of funny how narrow the definition of "Disc Jockey" has gotten over the years...bahh...I'm getting to old
But as stated, in the end, who cares.
