Seriously though, a bit of theory knowledge helps loads.

ive decided to take your guys advice ,seriously

i feel in the long run learning musical theory will be beneficial to me
since i never really learned it (i kind of overlooked the importance of it)

and the theory is for any genre ,but in the end not only will i be able to write melodies
and understand harmony ,and scales but the end result i will be able to produce much more complex tunes
unlike the ones i am making now.

so yeah i already ereased all the songs in my sequencer and dont plan on making any until i learn muiscal theory.

by then i probably wont need this forum ,once i have a better grasp and understanding of it all,and able to think outside the box
in music terms.

so thanks for your help.

Hey ClubKid

i understand ur frustration...i used to be in ur position too man.

IMO...well...nvm in IMO...i would have to state that TA doesnt have any people on here who know what they are doing as far as producing...except for the few i know of...

(Pho Mo-has the same style as dj Tiesto which im sick of...but none the less he knows how to produce trance...but not his own trance...and Dj Igloo who i would like to say enjoy listening to everyone of his tracks except his new chiba remix...and this german guy TranceVision...i think thats his name cant remember)

Learning musical theory is important in making trance...but does not help u build trance melodies...but i will give u something that does...

This site is full of Professional unsigned and signed artists who are nice enough to give the right information...and whom also actually step out of there way to help other aspiring producers

http://www.serious-sounds.net/forum...hp?showforum=63

this site has helped me in a big way...let me emphesize BIG...these people know what they are doing...review ur tracks without putting u down...as well as backing there words up if they tell u ur stuff is trash..and tell u how to not make it sound trash.

Well thats all i had to say...goodluck on ur journey of producing...and let me say this site doesnt not help

Sebasano

P.S. pm me if u need some more info

Dj dustx, you should be ready for some comments on several things you said, I can't be bothered to comment on all of them though. I think you are way off when you said that this site does not help - as I've found lots of topics on here that has helped me very much.
I'm not very experienced in production yet, but thanks to this site I'm starting to get a better perspective on how things should/could be done.
And frankly, if I was the site admin, and I saw you write all that negative shit about this site, AND advertising other forums the way you did - I would not have appreciated it alot. I'm glad you want to help this guy out - so does everyone of us - but saying there are more or less NONE here who can give good input on production, you are sadly mistaken, my friend. I can't still believe you made that statement.

i see his point though. only pho mo even bothers to even look at my tracks so i stopped posting in the amateur music promotion forum a few weeks back. most threads there consist of people saying 'grate choon!!1' and thats that. so alot of threads degenerate into an ass kissing contest. this forum has some quality threads that got buried. so you gotta dig for those. the dj booth is friendlier overall than the production forum i think and they are quite helpful to peeps like me that suck at djing. and ive seen worse forums anyway. faaar worse. take a look at the soundclick production forum if you think this is bad djdustx holy fucking shit. it has to be seen to be believed.

Beijer...if u did not know before i'll let u know now that TranceAddict.com is a site where people who love Trance and edm come together and shoot the shit i.e. gab gab gab..., talk about events...promote whats going on...and sections describing what u can talk about.

this site doesnt not reach futher then that...and dont assume im trashing TranceAddict.com...but facts are facts...there is a very limited supply of people who know anything in producing...and those who know are wrapped up into there own projects...the only one of course i have seen give a shit about people starting is PHO MO...who replies 98% of the time with what they need.

89% of the people who reply tell u how bad it is...but dont back there statement with why/how its bad. Also these people tend to be the yes men to the favored few.

Everyone who wants to help???...read the other replies...pure trash talk...and from the people who sadly think they know how to produce...and when they have the courage to submit there tracks there working on...there true broken self-ego shows by them already trashing there track...hoping for a pity "its got potential" or "keep at it"...even when i've hear that they sound worse then this guy ClubKid.

ClubKid at least i respect...hes seeking help and i've never seen this guy trash talk or put someone else down for trying.

Negative shit?...well again facts are facts, and in no way am i putting down TA...promoting other forums?...what do i care if they get exposure or not?...i listed serious sounds...cuz they have people who know what they are doing as well as flp files on how to create different melodies/basslines etc...and thaught this is the best way i could help.

Well, that's your opinion. I'm new to this too, and I've learned alot from this exact forum right here - without ever have posted anything. (I posted a track some weeks ago, but that hasn't got anything to with this.) I don't think there just trash talk here - though some people are abit too rude with their comments now and then. You've been here longer than me, as I've just been around for one year or so (unregistered), but I don't agree with you on that there's no help for the newbie to be found here - as I did infact find alot of help here. Infact, the production forum is the ONLY forum I'm at here, because I find the other forums to be packed with pretentious snobs that think trance died ten years ago.
So to sum things up: I don't agree there's no help to be found here for a person just starting out. I agree, though, that there may be other forums that provide better information on certain things - like the forum you mentioned. I just think you were going slightly overboard by some of your statements.
