Behringers are terrible, do a search and see what comes up. Everyone who has one hates it or upgraded. In this thread, someone emailed Behringer asking what was wrong with his mixer and the support told him nothing was wrong, it's supposed to be like that. The starter mixer I got was the Numark DM-1002MKII for $100. It's really basic and the sound quality is terrible but it's good for getting started. They try to market it as a hip-hop mixer but if you try scratching the crossfader wears out fast. However, for just getting started with mixing, it has kills and eqs, so if youre looking for a cheap, entry-level mixer, it might be what you need. I've had mine for almost a year and now I'm looking to upgrade because I've definetly grown out of it. (My crossfader went bad a few weeks into attempting scratching though, when mixing I'd always mix with the linefaders.) There might be other good starter level mixers in this price range but I'm not too familiar with them.
