Hello, i'm the owner of psy-trance.com, long time ago you posted this message but i have found it eventually!
The site is functioning again, working on an online shop at the moment - theres a forum up there currently and slowly more people are joining so keep it real.
I lost touch from psy like 3 years ago, getting quite repetitive and guys from chemical-crew (Skazi,Void and etc) are really destroying the music. Anyway, this forum http://forum.isratrance.com/ is a great start for psytrance, lots of psy-trance artists visit the forum. Have fun
to buy psy cds check out www.chaos-unlimited.co.uk. i believe they ship overseas and its where i get alot of psy cds.
and also, psy is far from dead. these days its more 'trance' than the majority of trance is. whilst the market for it is bigger and the volume of psy released is on the up, there are still legendary tracks coming out and the psy parties around southampton/winchester are brilliant.

the problem with psy is that they are releasing too much stuff in a week.

why is that a problem?
it just means you have to look a bit harder for the really good stuff. its still there though. just in a sea of records you will probably find really generic.
but if i didnt get into psy because its gotten bigger in recent years i would have missed out on protoculture's remix of silicon sound. would have missed beathackers - transpose, both of cosma's records...
i also personally think that having to work harder to find the gems makes it more satisfying to own some of these cds, now more than ever. although i admit, my favourite psy tunes go back a bit to the jaia - blue energy kind of days. psy in the past 2 or 3 years has gained somethings but its also lost something too. but i still love psy and im glad i met all the people i did that were into it. its been a life changing experience.

psy psy psy..
will not die!
i agree tho, theres a shitload of new stuff every week, which makes it hard to find the good stuff. but in a way just like Derivate said, makes it so much worth it when you do.

Of course, the best psy forum is Psynews.org. Not full of aggressive moderators like Isratrance, nor just boring like Psyforum.
too many releases in a week? what about trance music in general.. 1000 anthemic trance tunes in a week all using pretty much the same synth sound and sounding pretty much the same
psynews.org is cool. especially when they take the piss out of the worst album covers.
There isn't really any need to check out new releases all the time, there's plenty of good stuff out there already, even 10 years ago juno reactor's rotorblade and the rest of the "beyond the infinite" album was way ahead of its time.
Its more of a problem that there isn't enough of a community filtering out the bad releases, and dj's playing the music and getting the good stuff out there.
