The yankees have backed off a bit, I don't know whether trade talks are entirely off but the diamondbacks are asking for way too much. I remember something in the terms of RJ for Gordon, Vasquez, Hasley, other prospects and $$ to eat up Vasquez's contract...that's just ridiculous.
It sounds like postering to me. Arizona called the Yanks yesterday but they still we're asking for the moon and a young Catherine Zeta-Jones, which yes the Yanks don't have. But RJ is demanding to be traded and only to the Yankees. I lived in Seattle when RJ demanded to be traded from the Mariners and he got quite nasty when he didn't get his wish. Hard to see Arizona letting that play out. The Yanks best bet is to get a third team involved to make the deal once Arizona lessens their demands. We'll see.
I love Randy Johnson so I'm hoping but not holding my breath.
Carlos Delgado? No thanks! I hate that guy. He pouts too much. I'd rather have Tino. Then, make the best effort for Beltran.
Matt Clement is a head case. 10 million dollar arm and 2 cent head. Boston can have him.
I only worry about Hudson, Zito, or someone along those lines for Boston. Dave Wells is good and all but I don't forget his back breaking down in game 5 of the world series. He's still a fat tub. 10 million dollar arm and 2 cent body.
Here's to Edgar Renteria not signing with Boston. He is good.

It'd be nice to have Tino back but remember he's age is pretty up there and we all know he is a pretty bonafied and established hitter.
And I do agree bout Az wanting the moon and the olsen twins on coke
the only thing i think delgado has going for him is his youth (in all aspects) even though Tino is old he has the experience..

Go figure he's asking for a lot of money, Boras is his agent but he was the nucleus of that 2004 team. He will re-sign w/ the Redsox, they're getting closer and closer.
The thing is that he's 32. It's a given hiss performance as a catcher and a hitter will decline within the next two-three years. Is it really worth throwing around that much money? (5 years $55 million AND a No-Trade clause?) In my opinion, no.

Theo doesn't give no-trade clauses to anyone period.
Good point w/ Tek's age though, he is getting there by we all know by now, Tek's no ordinary catcher

how's he unordinary? he had a good contract year. granted, i liked that he gave a-rod a facewash. but take that bosox cock out of your hand , he's just a mediocre catcher with intangibles that had a career year. btw, i hate the yankees

sorry kid, I got "the club" lock grip on it...diehard.
Mediocre? I think not, he's a solid all-around catcher. There's only a handful of catchers in the league that can hit not to mention the other "intangibles" you speak of.

kid huh? hmm, not quite.
.271 isn't exactly mindblowing hitting for catchers. the only catchers that i consider hitters are (of recent times)
i-rod
piazza of the late 90s
the kid from cleveland last year.
1 year does not a career make. please, intangibles do not make up for talent. even with intangibles, he's not a solid all-around catcher. he's not there for his hitting, that's for sure. it's how he works with the pitchers and his clubhouse presence. his hitting was gravy last year, but don't count on it all the time.
