his remix of five fathoms is brilliant, much much much better than porter & debo's lame attempt

Nah, hate to break it to you, but Porter & Debo's mix owns Osamu's mix hands down. Osamu's mix is too floaty and just straight up average to me. I like my music dark, deep, and gritty... and that is exactly how Steve Porter & John Debo remixed the track.

However, Osamu's new track "Smoky Forest" is pretty decent and much better his Five Fathoms remix. I just bought this record and enjoy it very much. It's one of those records that actually did something for me this year, and in a year where watered-down McProg ruled the scene, that's a high praise from me and I definitely recommend it.

first of all it's called opinion. secondly, a remix with a vocal and this being a bootleg remix and all should have the vocal more jointed to gether to the track, it sounds porter & debo did their track and then threw the vocals on the wrong spots plus that breakdown is so wrong on so many levels. and i also want to hear where this dark & dirtyness is, i hear lightness and filth that has been dry for over a year

Wow, what's with the attitude? The above is my opinion too. I fail to see what your problem with the track is. The vocals sound fine to me and exactly how are they inserted in the wrong spots??? What does being a bootleg have anything to do with anything? For starters, the bassline and stabs/synths are more on the dirtier and techier side than Osamu's mix is... at least that's what I hear. Osamu's mix uses more floatier and lighter synths and the bassline is the same as well, light. As for the breakdown, what's so wrong about it? Please give some examples as this is the first time I've ever heard a breakdown been called "wrong on so many levels".

a breakdown should never be center of attention, it is a element of release of tension. altho, not much tension here, the track builds up to nothing special and breaks down to nothing special and then builds to outro out

Maybe the elements in the track you dislike were intentionally produced that way by Porter & debo. Did you ever think that they might be trying something a bit different from the norm? Not every track has to be the same damn tiring formula, and I much prefer if that is the case. Why can't the break be the center of attention?

because if the tune is meant for the dancefloor why do you highlight the part where you can't dance to
