Woah! Loads of replied this time, i really appreciate that! I got a question tho, what's harmonic?not pretty sure what means yet and ya ill try loads of different techniques. I recall i played live for my university 2 months ago, tho there wasnt a dance floor, i played some good trance in the student lounge. And yet, i am to experience playing out loud to ppl on a dance floor...im sure that'll boost my confidence up.
Thnx a mil ppl! Any1 with more techniques feel free to post watever u want

if you wanna know about harmonic mixing Nemesis 44 is the one to ask. theres a lot to learn and its not the easiest but it will give you a huge edge over the competition. it has to do with mixing records so that the melodies don't clash. theres a huge ongoing thread about harmonic mixing. http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...=%22harmonic%22

I've never done any harmonic mixing (), correct me if I'm wrong, but it means to mix tracks that are in the same key, not sure, but also to mix tracks, whose keys, correspond with each other (?)

someone enlighten me if i'm wrong

bye,

rj / space pirate

tracks that are harmonically mixed usually means that the two tracks happen to be in the same key when beatmatched.

some good pairs of tracks to mess around with:

BT - Mercury & Solace and Atlas - Compass Error (tarrentella v. redanka mix)
Three Drives - Carrerra 2 and Sun Decade - I'm alone (ronski speed mix)
Whirlpool - Under the sun (solarstone mix) and Witness of Wonder - Emotions in Motion (thrillseekers remix)
Shpongle - Dorset Perception and way out west - the fall (bedrock mix)
aven - all i want (ferry corsten remix) and Groove Armada - Superstylin' (g&d remix)
insigma - open (y?)our eyes (insigma mix) and paul van dyk - Nothing but you

uh oh... i'm giving out my trade harmonic secrets!!!!

i think one of the main things of mixing well (even though I'm not too spectacular myself) is just to make sure you drop the next track at the right time. usually good signs (though not always) to drop a track is like right after 4 bars of no kick or right when a cymbal crashes... mainly just make sure you drop it on the first beat of a measure. but you probably already know this.
