My friend used to live in his parents' basement, and the bathroom was right above it, so you could hear people going to the bathroom, and the vent up there opened up downstairs or something so you could smell it too. Pleasant.

However, they used the situation to their advantage and instead of going downstairs to talk to him they'd just go into the bathroom and yell into the floor. So we'd hear voices from the ceiling, and they'd hear voices from the floor.
